Coyotes Attack; High Alert on Town

Coyote Attacks 2 years old child:- It was a kid, about roughly 2 years of age, was in the carport. They opened the carport up and the coyote came in and really got the youngster on the neck area and part of the cheek. Authorities are cautioning occupants to be careful and keep a nearby eye on young children and little pets.

A warning has been issued in California where there has been a growing number of coyotes attack. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife reported four incidents involving coyotes and young children in the past month in Irvine, where the children have either been bitten or scratched by a coyote. All four had minor injuries from the attacks.

Capt. Rebecca Hartman said. "At the point when coyotes are fed, either deliberately or unexpectedly by sustenance being forgotten, they can turn into an open security risk.

If a coyote approaches and looks aggressive, pick up small children and pets and throw rocks to deter the animal, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife said. The only reported coyote-caused fatality in the state, according to the Department of Fish and Wildlife, occurred in 1981 when a 3-year-old girl was killed.
